- Idle Speed Low (Symptom 00) – Test Failed Since DTC Clear. WHEN TESTING, FOUND LONG TERM FUEL TRIMS AROUND +10 AND SHORT TERM 0. THESE CODES, SPECIFICALLY THE P0172 CODE CAN BE A SYMPTOM OF AN ISSUE WITH A LEAKING HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. GENERALLY THEY WILL DEPOSIT GAS INTO THE CRANK CASE, DUE TO LEAKING INTERNALLY. THIS CONDITION WILL SHOW IN OVER FUELING, AND CONSUMPTION OF THE GAS FUMES IN THE OIL/ CRANKCASE AND THROUGH THE PVC SYSTEM. SYMPTOM OF FUEL FOULED ENGINE OIL WILL BE PRESENT AT WELL. CONDITIONS AT THIS TIME ARE NOT CONFIRMING THE SYMPTOMS OF A BAD HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. ISSUE MAY BE INTERMITTENT, BUT NO USUALLY THE CASE. CLEARED CODES AND TEST DROVE, TO FIND HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, AND MAIN FUEL PUMP WORKING AS NORMAL. RECOMMEND CUSTOMER TO DRIVE VEHICLE, AND IF CONDITION BECOMES PRESENT AGAIN, TO RETURN FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC. AIR INTAKE, AND PCV WERE FILLED WITH CONDENSATION, AND OIL FROM BLOW BY. THROTTLE BODY FULL OF OIL AND WATER FROM CONDENSATION. CLEARED OUT AIR INTAKE AS BEST AS POSSIBLE, CLEANED THROTTLE BODY. AND TEST DROVE TO FIND BETTER FUEL TRIMS, BUT CONDITION OF LEAN @ LONG TERM STILL PRESENT. CONDITION FOR P0172 NOT PRESENT AT THIS TIME.
